Roelof Van Der Werken was born around the year 1645 in Meppelen, Drenthe, Holland to the parents of Mr and Mrs Gerrit Van Der Werken.
He migrated from Amsterdam, Netherlands on 15 March 1663 aboard the ship De Roosenboom (The Rosetree), under Captain Pieter Reyersz Van Der Beets. Arrived in New Amsterdam (now New York) between 11 May 1663 and 17 Aug 1663, where he worked for four years as a farmhand for Symon Groodt.
Roelof died after the year 1728 in the Schenectady Dutch Reformed Church, located somewhere in the state of New York.
