Regan left for his mission

Regan left for his mission today. We drove up to Calgary last night because he had to be at the airport by 5:00 this morning. I took him to the airport and said good bye to him. He’s flying to Montréal, with a layover in Toronto. He will stay overnight in Montréal then go to whatever his first area is.

I had a hard time leaving him. I’ve been an emotional wreck all day.

Regan started MTC training

As of today, Regan is a full-time missionary.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions, he’s doing his training online instead of in Provo. He will spend most of each day in class or other types of training, so even though he’s still at home, we won’t see him much.

Regan got his mission call

Regan got his mission call. He will be serving English speaking in the Canada Montréal Mission. Apparently, it’s the second largest mission in the world. He is to report to the MTC in Provo at the end of April

Regan’s high school graduation

We drove to Edmonton yesterday for Regan’s high school graduation. We stayed at a hotel in Nisku, near the airport. My parents and Sinéad came up as well. Actually, Regan and Sinéad drove with them.

Today, after I met with some clients of mine in nearby Beaumont, we drove to Vermillion, where the graduation was. Only one other grade 12 student, other than Regan, showed up for grad. It ended up being a pretty short ceremony, but it was nice. Mary escorted Regan during the procession, and I narrated a slideshow I had created of several photos of Regan.

My parents treated us to supper at White Spot in Edmonton afterward. We’ll be driving back home tomorrow.

Choo choo

During family scripture study this morning, we each took turns reading a verse. When it was Quillan’s turn, someone would read a word aloud, and he would repeat it. His verse was John 20:28.

And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

When the person reading said, “Thomas”, however, Quillan said “choo coo” instead.
