IE Tabbed Browser

IE now has tabbed browsing!

Well, sort of. You have to install the MSN toolbar. The 1.2 version of the MSN toolbar now allows IE users to have tabbed browsing functionality. It appears the functionality is available to users of IE 5 and 6.

So what takes IE so long?

The Maxthon browser, a derivative of IE, has had tabbed browsing for a while. However, I am curious as to how well they (MSN-IE, Maxthon-IE) implement tabbed browsing. The only browsers I have found to implement it correctly is K-Meleon and Opera: even Firefox will allow some pages to open in a new window, sometimes certain pop-ups are not blocked.

If you give it a whirl, please post your results.

I was disappointed with it.

Every time a new tab was opened, the browser would open a new window, which it would then collapse into a new tab. Same goes for switching between tabs. Very frustrating.

It was so frustrating, in fact, that I uninstalled it before I even had a chance to use it fully.
