{"id":2954,"date":"2016-09-25T20:51:51","date_gmt":"2016-09-25T20:51:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/siever.ca\/kim\/?p=2954"},"modified":"2017-08-01T21:08:53","modified_gmt":"2017-08-01T21:08:53","slug":"as-years-crawl-by","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/siever.ca\/kim\/2016\/09\/25\/as-years-crawl-by\/","title":{"rendered":"As Years Crawl By"},"content":{"rendered":"<ol class=\"poem\">\n<li>The seconds tick slowly by, each one\u00a0into the next,<\/li>\n<li>Bringing in another wave, with seeming no effect.<\/li>\n<li>But seconds turn to hours, and hours turn to days,<\/li>\n<li>Then weeks, and months, and years go by, and time does get its way.<\/li>\n<li>The strongest\u00a0stone, erect and sure, so firmly on\u00a0the\u00a0shore<\/li>\n<li>Starts losing once\u00a0the first wave hits\u2014won\u2019t ever win the war.<\/li>\n<li>Those waves pound on, day in and out, unstopped by human hand;<\/li>\n<li>That rock, so sound and true, becomes a beach of conquered sand.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol class=\"poem\" start=\"9\">\n<li>The water starts\u2014just one small drop\u2014down the mountain side.<\/li>\n<li>Joining with some others now, a trickle starts to glide.<\/li>\n<li>It forges on, \u2019round roots and rocks, push grains and specks aside.<\/li>\n<li>Leaves smooth and easy trails behind for\u00a0coming drops as guides.<\/li>\n<li>As time goes on\u2014the years crawl by\u2014that trickle takes no rest.<\/li>\n<li>It carved a scar so long and deep upon the mountain\u2019s breast.<\/li>\n<li>That trickle was\u00a0a brook one day, a creek, and then a stream.<\/li>\n<li>And now a river it\u2019s become, a mighty force it seems.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The seconds tick slowly by, each one\u00a0into the next, Bringing in another wave, with seeming no effect.
