{"id":2960,"date":"2017-01-14T09:11:13","date_gmt":"2017-01-14T09:11:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/siever.ca\/kim\/?p=2960"},"modified":"2018-02-27T14:39:29","modified_gmt":"2018-02-27T21:39:29","slug":"becoming-the-conquered-beast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/siever.ca\/kim\/2017\/01\/14\/becoming-the-conquered-beast\/","title":{"rendered":"Becoming the Conquered Beast"},"content":{"rendered":"<ol class=\"poem\">\n<li>The knight, with sword drawn high, struck down with strength increased.<\/li>\n<li>Slayed the dragon, but \u2014 surprise \u2014\u00a0himself became the beast.<\/li>\n<li>Toward the sweetened fruit, led the rod so strait,<\/li>\n<li>But through the years, from rust and strain, became the building great.<\/li>\n<li>Shedded plate and shield to fling a fatal stone,<\/li>\n<li>Then grew four feet, a giant now, for he\u2019d become\u00a0the foe.<\/li>\n<li>A stone cut without hands, careening down the hill<\/li>\n<li>The statue smashed, then in a flash, the statue\u2019s place did fill.<\/li>\n<li>The silence of the grove, the buzzing of the bees<\/li>\n<li>Have been replaced with mountain halls secured by locks and keys.<\/li>\n<li>The mustang roaming free, wind whipping at its mane,<\/li>\n<li>Is bridled now, and saddled up, and hauling \u2019cross the plain.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The knight, with sword drawn high, struck down with strength increased.
