{"id":2978,"date":"2016-12-18T16:19:48","date_gmt":"2016-12-18T16:19:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/siever.ca\/kim\/?p=2978"},"modified":"2017-08-01T21:22:56","modified_gmt":"2017-08-01T21:22:56","slug":"deep-down-inside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/siever.ca\/kim\/2016\/12\/18\/deep-down-inside\/","title":{"rendered":"Deep Down Inside"},"content":{"rendered":"<ol class=\"poem\">\n<li>I knew a man from years ago:<\/li>\n<li>His heart was strong, his tongue \u201cI know\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>He carried in his pocket close<\/li>\n<li>A compass sure, exactness chose.<\/li>\n<li>He painted art correct and right<\/li>\n<li>Of brightest day and darkest night.<\/li>\n<li>His path was set, the ladder climbed,<\/li>\n<li>The pilot lit, the pump was primed.<\/li>\n<li>But then he said goodbye one day<\/li>\n<li>Had packed his bags and gone away.<\/li>\n<li>I stood upon the steady beach<\/li>\n<li>And watched his ship sail out of reach<\/li>\n<li>The inches small turned into miles<\/li>\n<li>As he went on to unseen isles.<\/li>\n<li>As time went on, I lost this man;<\/li>\n<li>We drew apart, as strangers can.<\/li>\n<li>But on occasion, I have thought<\/li>\n<li>Of what he\u2019d done and what he\u2019d not.<\/li>\n<li>On where he is and what he does,<\/li>\n<li>For old times sake and just because.<\/li>\n<li>Does he still live deep down inside<\/li>\n<li>Beneath the years of pain and pride?<\/li>\n<li>Is he the one who tugs my heart<\/li>\n<li>Who cleans my wounds and soothes my scars?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I knew a man from years ago: His heart was strong, his tongue \u201cI know\u201d.
