{"id":3140,"date":"2017-08-22T08:11:04","date_gmt":"2017-08-22T14:11:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/siever.ca\/kim\/?p=3140"},"modified":"2018-02-27T15:04:20","modified_gmt":"2018-02-27T22:04:20","slug":"the-beast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/siever.ca\/kim\/2017\/08\/22\/the-beast\/","title":{"rendered":"The Beast"},"content":{"rendered":"<ol>\n<li>Corralled inside a pen, all lured by change and hope.<\/li>\n<li>Shuffled through gate and chute, each coaxed by rod and rope.<\/li>\n<li>Scanned for tattoo and tag, then pushed inside the booth.<\/li>\n<li>And once the curtains part, each learns the grisly truth.<\/li>\n<li>Before their very eyes, they see the ugly beast,<\/li>\n<li>Two heads upon its back, four eyes desiring feast.<\/li>\n<li>One head is bloody red, the other deathly blue<\/li>\n<li>Both growl, and drool, and snarl, and lick, and sniff, and chew.<\/li>\n<li>They step onto the box, and stand so deathly still.<\/li>\n<li>The beast extends its arms, its mouths await their swill.<\/li>\n<li>Its hands latch onto teats, the left and, too, the right.<\/li>\n<li>And milked them dry of X, their stomach knotted tight.<\/li>\n<li>The beast took in its hands the cup of dreams once sown.<\/li>\n<li>Drank all without a care, and climbed onto its throne.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Listen to me read this poem:<\/p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F339014358&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&visual=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&color=ff5500\"><\/iframe>\n<p>Like my poetry?
