I installed a new sidewalk in my backyard this spring, and have been slowly dismantling my old sidewalk since it doesn’t lead to the back door or the back gate. Last night, when I lifted up the concrete slab, I found an ant nest.<\/p>\n

In this photo, you can see all four stage of ant life: eggs, larvae, pupae and adults. I thought it was really cool, so I snapped a couple of shots.<\/p>\n

I had never seen ant larvae or pupae before.<\/p>\n

The adults sure had a heck of a time moving the larvae and pupae though. I didn’t check this morning to see if they had been successful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
