The Hidden Prayer

  1. The burdened sigh, the trickling tear, the hopeful glance above.
  2. The couraged step, the trembled voice, the awkward embraced love.
  3. The desperate heart, the longing soul, the lingering desire.
  4. The tightened chest, the grieving breast, the eager want for higher.
  5. The drooping frown, the trying smile, the piercing hunger pangs.
  6. The drowning self, the tired feet, the mem’ries of hymns sang.
  7. Th’unsteady hand, the unsure stand, the anxious cluttered mind.
  8. The wearied yoke, the wroughted core; a prayer in these I find.
