Let Freedom Ring

  1. Let freedom ring, liberty sing,
  2. Democracy to nations bring.
  3. Your child’s soul and your black gold
  4. From jawbreaker to Aleppo.
  5. We’ll take your coat so you can vote,
  6. Replace your home with rubber boat.
  7. Sending our pawns at crack of dawn
  8. Quarter million forever gone.
  9. When we’re done, well shoot our guns
  10. Buy plastic flow’rs and pin them on.
  11. Ignore the legless and the breathless.
  12. November glorify the deadness.

By Kim Siever

I live in Lethbridge with my spouse and 5 of our 6 children. I’m a writer, focusing on social issues and the occasional poem. My politics are radically left. I recently finished writing a book debunking several capitalism myths. My newest book writing project is on the labour history of Lethbridge.

I’m also dichotomally Mormon. And I’m a functional vegetarian: I have a blog post about that somewhere around here. My pronouns are he/him.
