Sinéad’s first two years

  • 12 Jan 2002
    • Sinéad’s third birthday. They have developed into quite a little child. They can walk, run, jump, climb, talk, sing, laugh, count, and do so much more. Her vocabulary is innumerable with new words popping up each day. They are very active and enjoys a vivid imagination. They love playing with other children. They are also using the toilet regularly and only wear diapers while they sleep at night.

    • Says “uh oh” and “dog” (“dah”).

    • Walks unsupported for substantial distances.
  • 16 Mar 2000
    • Sinéad can crawl up the stairs.
  • 04 Mar 2000
    • Sinéad can crawl down the stairs.
  • 18 Mar 2000
    • Sinéad’s upper left first molar came in.
  • 27 Feb 2000
    • Sinéad’s upper right first molar came in.
  • 20 Feb 2000
    • Sinéad’s lower left first molar came in.
  • 12.5 Months
    • Sinéad can crawl off furniture such as the bed and the couch.
  • 25 Jan 2000
    • Sinéad’s lower right first molar came in – the first tooth in almost four months.
  • 23 Jan 2000
    • Sinéad started crawling. This surprised Mama & Papa because they were sure they would walk first – they are walking very well around the furniture and walls.
  • 12 Jan 2000
    • Sinéad started eating solids. To date (12Feb2000) they’ve had banana, rice cake, avocado, sweet potato, applesauce, millet, pear sauce, and distilled water.
    • Sinéad celebrated their first birthday. They had friends over as well as their Uncle Sam and Grandma Golbeck.
  • 11 to 11.5 Months
    • Sinéad waves good-bye, says “bye-bye”, claps, imitates hair brushing, and gets their teeth brushed.
  • 08 Nov 1999
    • Sinéad walks along the edge of the bed to grab a toy.
  • 06 Nov 1999
    • Pulls herself to a standing position by using the edge of our bed for support.
  • 05 Oct 1999
    • Sinéad’s lower left lateral incisor emerges and makes a total of eight teeth.
  • Sep 1999
    • Sinéad has a taste of a banana – her first experience with food other than mother’s milk. They still are being exclusively breast-fed. They can pull themself to a standing position if they hold onto someone’s hands.
  • 08 Sep 1999
    • The second half of the upper lateral incisors joins its twin.
  • 25 Aug 1999
    • The upper right lateral incisor pokes through.
  • Jul 1999
    • Sinéad can sit unsupported for up to three minutes. They can hold a cup. First major trip while outside the womb: to a family reunion in Kelowna, British Columbia.
  • 18 Jul 1999
    • Three teeth come in: both upper central incisors, and the upper right lateral incisor.
  • 12 Jun 1999
    • Their lower left central incisor comes in.
  • 10 Jun 1999
    • Sinéad’s first tooth comes in: lower right central incisor.
  • 01 Apr 1999
    • Sinéad rolled over from their stomach to their back while lying on the floor.
  • Mar 1999
    • Sinéad begins seeing the chiropractor regularly to make sure the spinal cord is free from obstruction.
  • 24 Mar 1999
    • Sinéad laughed out loud. This time it was while they were awake!
  • 09 Mar 1999
    • Sinéad reached 5100g.
  • 25 Feb 1999
    • Sinéad reached 4710g and 54.61cm.
  • 08 Feb 1999
    • Sinéad gave their first laugh. It was while they were sleeping, but it was an unmistakable laugh nonetheless.
  • 07 Feb 1999
    • Was given a name and a blessing by their father — an ordinance performed in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints similar to the practice of christening in some contemporary Christian sects.
  • 28 Jan 1999
    • Another check-up. Reached 4000g.
  • 22 Jan 1999
    • Received their first Priesthood blessing
  • 19 Jan 1999
    • Bypassed their birth weight. The community health nurse weighed them in at 3616 g.
  • 18 Jan 1999
    • Lost the last of their umbilical cord.
  • 12 Jan 1999
    • Sinéad was born at 08:55.
    • Their first doctor’s visit
